EastEnders’ Ian Beale has made a worrying decision as he forms a risky alliance in prison with evil Gray Atkins – and Chelsea Fox could be in grave danger. In recent episodes, Gray’s nan Sheila has formed a relationship with his son Jordan, and the pair are plotting to take the young boy out of the country.
Meanwhile, Ian’s insistence from behind bars that it was Chelsea who was responsible for Jordan’s accident has only furthered Gray’s agenda, and the villain is setting his sights on taking revenge.
In today’s episode, Gray phoned Sheila, who filled him in about recent events. Last week, Chelsea was horrified to discover that Sheila had taken Jordan to see his dad in prison, so she cut her out of her life for good.
Sheila didn’t believe she would be able to take Jordan out of the country anymore, but Gray outlined his new plan – to get Ian to agree to ask Chelsea to visit him, allowing her to make a move on Jordan.
Gray found Ian in his cell and brought up the subject of Chelsea again. Seeing Ian was struggling, Gray offered a listening ear, but he swiftly turned down his support.
Meanwhile, having changed her statement about the accident, Chelsea was concerned about Ian stuck in prison with Gray. While visiting Denise in hospital, she told her mum she feared that the case would end up back in court.
Tensions continued to escalate in prison, but Ian made a connection with fellow inmate Lloyd. The pair completed a puzzle together and shared their stories, as Gray watched on.
When Gray quizzed Ian on his new acquaintance, Ian revealed he was scared he might not survive prison. Gray offered to give him protection inside, asking him to arrange a visit with Chelsea in return.
Ian remained sceptical, but things soon came to a head when some prisoners brutally attacked Lloyd in the communal area in a horribly violent scene.
Gray approached Ian with a toothbrush which had been made into a weapon. Ian agreed to talk to Chelsea, and he used Gray’s secret phone to ask her to visit tomorrow – luring her by saying he has intel on her abusive ex.
With Chelsea confirming she’ll visit, will Ian come to regret this big decision?
