EastEnders spoiler alert: Priya Nandra-Hart’s world is about to become even more complicated as a shocking pregnancy raises one huge question in Walford: who is the father of her unborn baby — Max or Ravi? Priya has been trying desperately to convince herself that everything is under control. Her relationship with Max was never supposed to become serious. In her mind, it was simply something exciting and uncomplicated, something she could enjoy without allowing emotions or consequences to interfere. But that plan has already fallen apart.
When Jean begins questioning her about Max, Priya finally admits that she has slept with him again. The confession becomes even more complicated when she reveals that Ravi has now proposed to her. Jean is stunned by the situation, especially because Priya appears to be caught between two completely different futures.
Jean believes Ravi’s proposal could be exactly what Priya needs. If she accepts his commitment, perhaps she can finally put Max behind her and close that chapter of her life forever. But Priya knows it will not be that simple. Max has remained a part of her life for far too long, and the secret she is carrying makes everything even more dangerous.
Trying to hide her emotions, Priya insists that she should never have said anything. Yet Jean quickly notices that something is wrong. Priya is struggling, and it becomes impossible for her to keep everything bottled up.
Then comes the question Priya has been desperately trying to avoid.

Priya finally admits the truth. She has discovered that she is expecting a baby, and she has already arranged to have a termination later that day.

She knows that Ravi has a habit of turning affection into something more, and she does not want his concern to lead anywhere she is not ready to go.
Yet Ravi’s presence only makes Priya’s dilemma harder to ignore.
Then, just as Priya is struggling with her own secret, another frightening incident changes everything.
Penny suddenly becomes seriously unwell.
Her breathing becomes difficult, leaving everyone around her terrified. The situation quickly escalates, and an ambulance is called. Penny is frightened and overwhelmed, especially because she is pregnant. In her panic, she begs those around her to make sure that her baby is saved if something happens to her.
Her distress has a profound effect on Priya.
Watching Penny fight to protect her unborn child forces Priya to confront feelings she has been trying to suppress. Until that moment, she had been treating her own pregnancy as a problem that needed to disappear. But suddenly, she begins wondering whether ending the pregnancy is really what she wants.
Jean once again encourages her to listen to herself rather than allowing fear or pressure to make the decision for her. Priya knows there is no easy answer, but something inside her has started to change.
And then another possibility emerges — one that could completely transform the situation.
What if the baby isn’t Max’s?
Priya begins to calculate the timing of everything that has happened. She had assumed Max was the father because their affair had been continuing for so long. But there was another encounter that she had almost forgotten about.
Ravi had returned from the ward, and there had been a moment between them.
It may have been only once, but that one encounter could be enough to change everything.
Priya suddenly realizes that there is a genuine possibility that Ravi is the father of her baby.
That revelation leaves her in an entirely different emotional position. If the baby belongs to Ravi, then the pregnancy is no longer connected solely to a secret affair with Max. Ravi has already proposed marriage, and Priya has been given a glimpse of what her future with him could look like.

Meanwhile, Penny’s medical emergency thankfully has a positive outcome. After being taken to hospital, it is revealed that she suffered from a blood clot, but doctors caught it in time. Most importantly, the baby is safe.
The relief is enormous, but the experience leaves everyone reflecting on how fragile life can be.
For Priya, the incident becomes a turning point.
She begins thinking about what family really means and whether she is prepared to walk away from the chance of having a child. The possibility of losing something she has only just discovered she has makes her question everything she believed she wanted.
At the same time, Ravi appears increasingly focused on his own future with Priya.
He talks about family and the importance of appreciating the people you love while you have the chance. He admits that he does not necessarily see himself starting over with more children, but his words reveal how deeply he values the family he already has.
For Priya, every conversation now carries a hidden meaning.
She is carrying a secret that could completely change Ravi’s life.
Then Ravi turns his attention directly to Priya.
He tells her that everything surrounding Penny has made him realize something important. If anything ever happened to him, Priya is the person he would want beside him. He wants her in his life, not temporarily, but permanently.
And then he makes a decision that leaves Priya stunned.
Ravi gets down on one knee.
With everything that has happened between them, he asks Priya to become his wife.
For a moment, the secrets, doubts and uncertainty appear to disappear.
Priya says yes.
She accepts Ravi’s proposal, seemingly choosing the future he has offered her.
But behind that happy moment lies a question that could threaten everything.
Who is the father of Priya’s baby?
If Ravi is the father, his proposal could suddenly become the beginning of a genuine family future. But if Max is the father, Priya will have to confront the consequences of the affair she thought she could keep separate from the rest of her life.
Either way, the pregnancy has changed the stakes completely.
Priya may have believed she could simply walk away from Max and build a new life with Ravi, but the truth about the baby could make that impossible. And if a paternity question eventually emerges, Ravi may be forced to reconsider everything he believes about Priya and their relationship.
The biggest twist may be that Priya herself does not yet know the answer.
Her decision to say yes to Ravi could therefore be the beginning of an even bigger Walford secret. She has accepted his proposal while carrying a pregnancy whose paternity remains uncertain, and sooner or later, the truth will have to come out.
For now, Priya has chosen Ravi.
But with Max still lurking in the background and a baby connecting her to one of these two men, her new engagement may be anything but secure.
Could Ravi really be the father? Or will Priya discover that Max is the man who has unknowingly changed all of their lives forever? The answer could send shockwaves through Walford.

EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (August 19) episode, which can now be streamed on BBC iPlayer. The episode in question will air at 7:30pm.
Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) made quite the discovery hours after ending her affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood) – and it may shed some light on one of the big flashforward mysteries.
The fan-favourite character, as viewers know, has been sleeping with Max, who is due to wed Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) in the coming weeks.
Cindy remains in the dark about lothario Max’s betrayal and roped Priya in to assist with her hen do.
Priya, meanwhile, was conflicted about her future as, feeling guilty over what they’ve done to Cindy was one thing but when ex Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) popped the question in a tearful moment, it left her certain that ending things with Max was the only logical conclusion.
Max was taken aback by her decision to put a stop to their dalliance but ultimately he realised it was for the best. While Priya weighed up if she truly wanted to marry Ravi, she headed to Cindy’s hen at The Vic – where things took an unexpected turn.
After feeling off all day, she threw up all over Cindy’s dress.
Later, we saw Priya sitting in the ladies loos with a pregnancy test in hand – and a shocked look on her face. She’s pregnant.
The question is: is the baby Max’s? If so, it would certainly add further fuel to the speculation that she is the pregnant woman in Max’s bed on New Year’s Day.
The BBC One soap, as fans will remember, aired a special flashforward episode in January, showcasing what New Year’s Day 2027 will look like on the Square.
On the day in question, Max is getting married to a mystery woman – but there is a pregnant woman sleeping in the bed beside him that’s not his bride-to-be.
With Priya now confirmed pregnant, will she prove to be the woman in question?
