EastEnders is heading toward another explosive week in Walford, and Ravi Gulati’s growing obsession with Priya Nandra-Hart is about to push their already complicated relationship into dangerous territory. What begins as Ravi’s desperate attempt to win back the woman he once loved could soon become something far more troubling, especially as Priya’s secret connection with Max Branning continues to threaten everyone involved.
Ravi has struggled to accept that Priya has moved on from their relationship. Ever since discovering that she had become involved with another man, his determination to get her back has intensified. His feelings have already crossed into worrying territory, with Ravi even making it clear that he would be prepared to deal with Priya’s new boyfriend once he discovered his identity.
For now, that threat has not developed into the violent revenge plan Ravi once imagined. But his inability to let Priya go remains a major concern, particularly when his emotions are mixed with jealousy, disappointment and a growing fear that he could lose her for good.
This week, however, Ravi believes he finally has a chance.
Their daughter, Avani Nandra-Hart, attempts to bring her parents closer together, and her efforts appear to have an effect on Priya. After spending time around Ravi again, Priya begins to soften toward him. Ravi immediately sees this as a sign that their relationship might not be over after all.
Encouraged by the change in Priya’s attitude, Ravi turns to Zack Hudson for advice. Zack tells his friend that if he genuinely wants Priya back, he needs to show her how much she still means to him.
Ravi takes that advice very seriously.
Rather than simply talking honestly about his feelings, he decides that he needs to make a grand gesture. His answer is a marriage proposal. Ravi becomes convinced that getting down on one knee and asking Priya to become his wife will prove that his feelings for her are genuine.
But there is one enormous problem.
Priya still has unfinished business with Max.
Despite trying to move forward with Ravi, Priya secretly remains involved with Max Branning. Their affair has become increasingly complicated, especially because Max is engaged to Cindy Beale. The secret relationship has already placed Priya in an emotionally difficult position, and her guilt begins to grow as she realizes just how many people could be hurt if the truth comes out.
The situation becomes even more awkward when Priya and Max spend the night together and accidentally sleep through the morning of Cindy’s hen party.
With Cindy’s celebration approaching, Max suddenly finds himself in an impossible situation. He should be preparing to attend his fiancée’s big event, yet he has spent the night with another woman instead. Priya is caught in the same web of lies, and both know that one wrong move could expose everything.
Instead of simply going their separate ways, the pair unexpectedly find themselves helping with last-minute preparations for Cindy’s celebration.
The contrast is painful.
Max is preparing for his future with Cindy while secretly sleeping with Priya, and Priya is caught between a man she cannot seem to resist and a former partner who is desperately trying to rebuild their relationship.
As the pressure becomes unbearable, Priya finally begins questioning what she really wants.
Then Ravi delivers his shock proposal.
With emotions already running high, Ravi gets down on one knee and asks Priya to marry him. It is an enormous moment that could change the direction of several lives in Walford.
Priya is left facing a decision she cannot avoid.
Does she accept Ravi’s attempt to rebuild their family, or does she continue down the dangerous path she has created with Max?
The answer appears to come when Priya later visits Max at his flat.
Rather than continuing their secret affair, Priya decides that it needs to end. Her decision suggests that Ravi’s proposal may have had a profound effect on her. Perhaps she really is considering giving Ravi another chance.
But fans know that things in Walford rarely remain simple for long.
Max is already struggling with jealousy of his former partner Linda Carter, whose relationship with counselor Clive Masters appears to be becoming increasingly serious. After collecting their daughter Annie so Linda and Clive can enjoy their date, Max shares a brief but significant moment with Linda.
Although neither admits it openly, the encounter hints that unresolved feelings may still exist between them.
Instead of confronting those emotions, Max pushes them aside and returns his attention to Priya.
That decision could prove disastrous.
Max’s affair with Priya has already been discovered by Jean Slater, who accidentally stumbled across their secret. Jean warned Priya about Max’s reputation and the chaos he could bring into her life. However, Jean ultimately chose not to expose the affair.
For now, that secret remains protected.
But secrets in EastEnders rarely stay buried forever.
And this is where Ravi’s story becomes particularly worrying.
Viewers have already been speculating about the identity of the mysterious gunman seen in the New Year’s Day flash-forward. The figure appeared to be connected to a future revenge storyline involving Max.
Could Ravi be the person behind that threat?
At this stage, nothing has been confirmed, but Ravi’s jealousy and obsession with Priya make the possibility impossible to ignore. He has already spoken about wanting revenge against the man who took Priya away from him. If he discovers that Max was secretly involved with Priya, the consequences could be devastating.
Priya may believe that ending things with Max will allow her to move forward with Ravi, but she could be underestimating how deeply damaged their relationship has become.
Meanwhile, another Walford storyline is creating its own storm.
Amy Mitchell has finally confessed the truth about Joel Marshall’s violent attack, leaving DC Craig Ingram facing an enormous professional and personal dilemma.
Joel’s return to the Square caused anger because of his past. He had served time for assaulting his stepmother, Vicky Fowler, and his situation became even more controversial after it emerged that he had secretly recorded himself having sex with Avani without her knowledge or consent.
When Joel returned to Walford after completing his sentence, several teenagers were determined to confront him.
Amy lured him to the park under the impression that they were attending an end-of-term celebration. Instead, the teenagers restrained him using Ricky Butcher’s bike lock and humiliated him while recording what happened.
But the situation later became much more serious when Joel was attacked by an unknown person and left badly injured.
Craig was determined to discover who had carried out the assault.
As he questioned those connected to the incident, several pieces of information began to fall into place. Lily Slater admitted that she had freed Joel before the later attack, while Denzel Danes revealed that he had been with Avani around the relevant time, helping investigators rule them out.
Amy, meanwhile, found herself under increasing pressure.
Craig did not immediately treat her like a suspect. Instead, he approached her sympathetically, giving Amy enough confidence to reveal that Ricky owned the bike lock used to restrain Joel.
But Amy was still hiding the most important truth.
Her emotional situation became even worse after she saw Denzel sharing an intimate moment with Avani. Already struggling with her feelings, Amy turned to alcohol and ended up at McClunky’s.
Craig spotted her there and offered her a chance to talk.
Eventually, Amy could no longer carry the secret.
She confessed that she was responsible for attacking Joel.
Craig was stunned.
Now the detective has to decide what to do with the information, while Amy desperately fears what her confession could mean for her future. She begs Craig to keep her involvement hidden, and he agrees to do what he can, although the decision places his own career at risk.
Craig has already made a questionable choice by withholding video footage connected to the teenagers’ treatment of Joel from the official investigation. With his professional judgment already under scrutiny, keeping Amy’s confession secret could make everything considerably worse.
And soon, his fears become reality.
Craig arrives at the police station expecting to continue dealing with the investigation, only to receive devastating news. A serious complaint has been made against him, and he is suspended from public-facing police duties.
He is also removed from the investigation into Joel’s attack.
For Amy, the suspension might initially appear to be good news. With Craig no longer officially handling the case, she may believe her secret has a better chance of staying hidden.
But Jack Branning warns her that the police are still likely to discover who attacked Joel.
That warning leaves Amy terrified.
And while Amy faces the consequences of her confession, Ravi and Priya are heading toward their own dangerous crossroads.
Priya may have ended her affair with Max, but Max is unlikely to simply disappear from her life. Ravi believes his proposal could give their relationship a fresh start, yet the secrets surrounding Priya, Max and their complicated history remain unresolved.
If Ravi eventually discovers the full truth about Priya and Max, his reaction could change everything.
With the mysterious New Year’s Day gunman still hanging over the story, fans will be left wondering whether Ravi’s desire to win Priya back could eventually turn into something much darker.
Priya may think she is choosing her future.
But in Walford, choosing one person often means creating an enemy somewhere else.
And as Ravi’s obsession grows, Max’s secrets threaten to explode, and the shadow of the mysterious gunman continues to loom, Priya could soon find herself caught between two men whose emotions are becoming increasingly dangerous.
The question now is not simply whether Priya will choose Ravi or Max.
It is whether either man will accept her decision.
EastEnders continues Monday to Thursday on BBC One, with episodes also available on BBC iPlayer.
HOT NEWS!!! EastEnders confirms major character is pregnant leaving flashforward mystery ‘solved’
EastEnders spoilers follow for Wednesday’s (August 19) episode, which can now be streamed on BBC iPlayer. The episode in question will air at 7:30pm.
Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) made quite the discovery hours after ending her affair with Max Branning (Jake Wood) – and it may shed some light on one of the big flashforward mysteries.
The fan-favourite character, as viewers know, has been sleeping with Max, who is due to wed Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) in the coming weeks.
Cindy remains in the dark about lothario Max’s betrayal and roped Priya in to assist with her hen do.

Priya, meanwhile, was conflicted about her future as, feeling guilty over what they’ve done to Cindy was one thing but when ex Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) popped the question in a tearful moment, it left her certain that ending things with Max was the only logical conclusion.
Max was taken aback by her decision to put a stop to their dalliance but ultimately he realised it was for the best. While Priya weighed up if she truly wanted to marry Ravi, she headed to Cindy’s hen at The Vic – where things took an unexpected turn.
After feeling off all day, she threw up all over Cindy’s dress.
Later, we saw Priya sitting in the ladies loos with a pregnancy test in hand – and a shocked look on her face. She’s pregnant.
The question is: is the baby Max’s? If so, it would certainly add further fuel to the speculation that she is the pregnant woman in Max’s bed on New Year’s Day.

The BBC One soap, as fans will remember, aired a special flashforward episode in January, showcasing what New Year’s Day 2027 will look like on the Square.
On the day in question, Max is getting married to a mystery woman – but there is a pregnant woman sleeping in the bed beside him that’s not his bride-to-be.
With Priya now confirmed pregnant, will she prove to be the woman in question?
